Iltschi, a 2004 Laurens County Rescue, came to SCARE together with her pasture mates Charlie, Moonshine and Kachina. Being a Draft-X Appaloosa, she didn't look all that emaciated, but was 200 lbs underweight. She had deep cuts in her legs, most likely from trailer tie-downs and debris she had to live among. She quickly bounced back, though, and is the Alpha in my "little" band of 5. She puts on weight just by thinking about feed or hay.

Her favorite word is "cookie" and she loves MannaPro's  Hoof Snax (cookies for the horses). Iltschi is my special big Baby. The name "Iltschi" comes from old Apache, meaning "Wind". She is now 16 years old, with a mind of her own "Appaloosa Style".
